GlofPay is a money transfer and online payment service built for West Africa and for those who live between two countries. One account, several currencies, and money that arrives where your recipient expects it: on their mobile money.
Sending money to your family should not take half a day, a counter, a queue and a fee discovered at the last moment. In practice it often does: the real cost of a transfer to sub-Saharan Africa remains among the highest in the world, and most of the difficulty lies in the last mile, the one between money sent and money actually available.
That last mile already exists: it is the mobile money account your recipient uses every day. GlofPay plugs into it. The money leaves an account, a card or a wallet, and lands directly on the number the person already uses — no branch to find, no code to pass around.
GlofPay brings together in a single account the uses that elsewhere require three different services:
The amount your recipient gets is shown before you confirm. What you see on screen is what will be debited, and what will be credited. Nothing is taken once the operation is under way.
Every movement appears in your history, with its date, its amount, its fees and its status. You can print a receipt for it at any time.
Execution times also depend on mobile money operators, banks and card networks. We give orders of magnitude that we observe, not guarantees over a chain we do not control end to end.
Access to the account is protected by two-step verification and by an identity check. That check is not a comfort formality: it answers the know-your-customer and anti-money-laundering obligations that apply to payment services.
In practice, we verify the identity of account holders, we monitor unusual operations and we keep supporting documents for the period set by the regulation. What data is processed, for what purpose and what your rights are is set out in our Privacy Policy.
A merchant can collect on their site without handling card data: the customer pays from their GlofPay wallet. Two integrations exist — a payment button generated from the dashboard, and a library for a full integration into the application. Extensions for the common online stores are provided.
The steps to follow, the API keys and the code samples are gathered in the Developer area.
A question about a transfer, an integration request, a complaint: the contact form lands straight in our inbox, and we reply to the address you give. You can also write to contacte@glofpay.com.
If you already have an account, open a ticket from your account instead: your request is then linked to your file and followed up.
